Five persons got injured in an accident that involved an articulated truck and five other vehicles on Tuesday at the Suame roundabout in Kumasi.
A taxi driver was trapped in one of the accident vehicles for close to two hours before rescuers were able to remove him from the wreckage.
According to the Ashanti Regional Correspondent of Daily Graphic, Donald Ato Dapatem, the incident happened around midday.
He said the articulated truck which was loaded with iron bars fell on the five vehicles whilst initiating the curve on the roundabout.
It took the intervention of seven towing vehicles before the trapped taxi driver was rescued according to Dapatem.
The injured persons were rushed to the hospital.
