The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia E. Palmer, has reaffirmed her country’s commitment to strengthening security ties with Ghana following a courtesy call on the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah.
The visit, which took place as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in security and defence matters.
In an official post on its Facebook page, the U.S. Embassy in Ghana announced the meeting and reiterated the importance of the partnership between the two nations.
Ambassador Palmer expressed her pleasure at engaging with Dr Boamah, stating, "A pleasure to congratulate Ghana’s Minister of Defense, Dr Omane Boamah, and continue our strong security partnership."
The discussions are believed to have covered regional security challenges, counterterrorism efforts, and defence collaboration between Ghana and the United States.
The U.S. has been a key partner in Ghana’s security infrastructure, providing support in areas such as military training, intelligence sharing, and peacekeeping initiatives.
Ambassador Palmer’s visit underscores the continued cooperation between Ghana and the United States in maintaining peace and stability within the region.
