“All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again,” goes the Bible verse Ecclesiastics 3: 20. It is a fate no man or woman will ever escape. It is called death.
When death visits a home, it leaves behind worried and disturbed families, and a lot of tears but how would you feel if you discovered that those persons whose deaths broke your heart were sent to the mortuary or the grave while they were still alive? Frightening as it may sound; this is true for many people, because of ignorance on the part of families in distinguishing the difference between death and unconsciousness.
Authorities are worried there are a number of cases of people being shipped into morgue fridges and graves right here in Ghana when they are actually not dead.
On Hotline this week, we put the spotlight on this phenomenon. You will hear heart-wrenching stories of how some individuals were sent to the morgue and cemeteries alive, or were being prepared for burial with coffins bought and graves dug, when they were actually in unconscious states.
The documentary will draw attention to why you should never allow any emotionally charged person to convey a seemingly lifeless individual to the morgue or cemetery without proper examination by a qualified professional who understands the “science of death.”
“BURIED ALIVE,” a JoyNews Hotline Documentary produced by Joseph Opoku Gakpo airs on Thursday 16th April 2015 at 8:30 am on the Super Morning Show on Joy Fm, and myjoyonline.com.
