Vodafone Ghana, on Monday said its subscriber base had gone up by 60 percent in the last 12 months, making it the fastest growing network in the country.
According to market figures, total industry growth average 29 percent over the past twelve months.
At a media briefing to mark the first anniversary of Vodafone in Ghana, Mr Paul Ryan, Director of External Affairs, said the company's success could be attributed to the leverage on the strong global Vodafone brand, which was the seventh most valuable brand in the whole wide world and the heavy investment in Vodafone Ghana in terms of technology, processes and people.
As at December 2009, he said, Vodafone had made a total capital investment of over $302 million in telecommunication systems to enhance services that it rendered to customers.
"While there is much more to do and I assure you more is planned, already customers can experience improving quality and more and more innovative services. We will constantly improve and innovate," Mr Ryan said.
He said what the company was able to do well during the period, was for it to provide enviable customer service and product propositions that would give customers experience.
Mr Ryan said the introduction of various services, including Vodafone broadband service, mobile broadband Smartphones and the launch of the Vodafone internet cafes, were just indications of what would make Vodafone, the network of choice in the country.
Besides, the focus on technology and service, Mr Ryan said Vodafone Ghana was leveraging on its global experience in human resource development, to offer employees first class training, development and opportunity that would make them a competitive labour force around the world.
Mr Ryan said Vodafone Ghana remains focused to become the number one communications service provider in Ghana, through enhanced customer satisfaction and innovation.
Planned programmes for the one year anniversary include, the launch of the world of difference, in which the Vodafone Ghana Foundation would sponsor some Ghanaian professionals and workers to take some time off their work to support selected community activities of their choice in any community in Ghana.
In addition, there would be a red carnival day and other initiatives to promote customer satisfaction.
