The Gonjaland overlord, Yagbonwura Bi-Kunuto Jewu Soale, has bestowed honour upon Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, acknowledging his support and contributions to the development of Gonjaland.
During a gathering between the NPP flagbearer and the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs in Damongo on Wednesday, the Yagbonwura expressed deep gratitude to Dr Bawumia for his significant role in advancing Gonjaland's progress, particularly through the creation of the Savannah Region.
"You are one of the esteemed sons of the Gonja Kingdom. Your dedication and service have left an indelible mark on our land, fostering rapid development since the establishment of the Savannah Region," he remarked.
Recognising Dr Bawumia's integral role, the Yagbonwura affirmed, "You have played a pivotal part in our Kingdom's growth.
"Consider yourself not just as a son but as a cherished member of Gonjaland. May your aspirations be fulfilled."
Furthermore, he lauded Dr Bawumia for his support during his first anniversary as Yagbonwura, expressing gratitude to the public for their contributions to the event's success.
As a token of appreciation for Dr. Bawumia's steadfast commitment to Gonjaland's advancement, the Yagbonwura presented him with a symbolic smock of gratitude, along with 100 tubers of yam and a bull.
In November last year, the Yagbonwura bestowed upon Dr Bawumia the chieftaincy title Konukolewura, signifying Chief of Unity, in acknowledgement of the Vice President's efforts in fostering inclusivity within the region.
