A youth activist, Courage Babanawo, aims to take a leadership role in the youth wing of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency of the Volta Region.
In a statement shared with Myjoyonline.com, he announced his intention to run for the position of Ketu South NDC Deputy Youth Organiser in the upcoming intra-party executive elections.
He seeks to energise the party’s grassroots, focusing specifically on the youth, whom he considers the nerve centre of the NDC in its stronghold.
“I firmly believe that the youth are the backbone and driving force of the NDC, and I am prepared to work tirelessly to strengthen the party’s structures, promote unity, and sustain our electoral successes in Ketu South and beyond,” he stated.
Mr. Babanawo explained that his desire to serve the party stems from a "deep commitment to the ideals, vision, and core values of the NDC."
He emphasised that the experience he has gained from serving in various roles over the years has equipped him to lead the NDC youth of Ketu South effectively.
He promised to “work closely with party leadership, executives, comrades, and all stakeholders to advance the fortunes of the NDC and deepen youth participation in party activities.”
His previous roles include serving as Deputy TEIN Organiser at Tamale NMTC, TEIN President at Tamale NMTC, Wuduoba LA Primary Branch Communications Officer, and a member of the Communications Committee for Ketu South Constituency.
He has also contributed his expertise to the Ketu South NDC Special Operations Committee (Youth Wing) and the Volta Regional NDC Communications Team.
“These roles have provided me with the experience, discipline, and grassroots understanding needed to effectively serve the youth and the party at large. If entrusted with this mandate, I pledge to serve with loyalty, discipline, humility, and dedication,” he assured.
Mr. Babanawo humbly called on party members to support his candidacy as he aims to enhance the youth wing of the NDC and contribute to improving its electoral fortunes in the Ketu South Constituency.
“I sincerely seek the support, confidence, and solidarity of delegates, party executives, comrades, and the entire youth wing of the Ketu South Constituency, so that we can work together for a stronger, united, and victorious NDC,” he concluded.
