Three people have been arrested by police at Kenyasi police in the Ashanti Region for alleged illegal abortion.
Fifteen-year old Junior High School graduate (name withheld), her boyfriend, Mohammed Ibrahim, and an accomplice, Danjumah Aremeyaw, were picked up on Wednesday.
They are suspected to have terminated a seven-month pregnancy and dumped the foetus on the streets of Abirem-Nwamase in the Kwabre East District.
Some residents, led by Assemblyman for the area, drew police attention to the abandoned foetus for arrest of the suspects.
Nhyira News checks revealed the girl left her Old Tafo Mile 4 home to lodge with her lover’s friend, Danjumah, at Nwamase.

On Tuesday night, she started experiencing an unusual stomach pains and was rushed to a local health facility, after taking what police believe was abortion- induced drug.
The teenager who had earlier told police she was reading Home Economics in one of the senior high schools in the Western Region until the incident was camped in Danjumah’s room for three days.
After getting rid of the already -formed foetus on the streets, the teenager left the town.
Kenyase District Commander, DSP Emmanuel Adu Boahene confirmed the story but will not give further details
Police investigations later led to her arrest together with Danjumah while the dead foetus was sent to Zion Praise Hospital at Asonomaso, for preservation.
Meanwhile, police at Kenyasi have launched a manhunt for one Issah, the second boyfriend of the teenager said to have played a role in the illegal abortion.
