Nigeria made it three wins from three in 2018 World Cup qualifying with a 4-0 thrashing of African champions Cameroon in Uyo.
Odion Ighalo, John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho were all on target for Nigeria in their victory. The win means the Super Eagles top Group B on nine points while Cameroon have just two after three matches.
Zambia have all but ended Algeria's hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, after they romped to a 3-1 win on Saturday evening.
Platinum Stars striker Brian Mwila handed the hosts a two-goal in side 35 minutes, before Yacine Brahimi pulled one back for Algeria.
However, Enoch Mwepu sealed the win for Zambia with a fine strike in the 89th minute.
Earlier on Friday, Ghana scored in the 85th minute to earn a 1-1 draw against visiting Congo in Group E.
Burkina Faso maintained top spot in Group C, after securing a 0-0 draw with Senegal at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor.
Neither nations could find the back of the net, although Senegal finished the game with 10 men after Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off in the 84th minute.
Burkina Faso remain top of the group, while Senegal have leapfrogged Bafana into second spot.
South Africa suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde on Friday evening.
Cote d'Ivoire moved top of Group C, after recording a 3-0 win over Gabon on Saturday evening.
After a goalless opening half. Max Gradel opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, before Seydou Doumbia bagged a brace in the final 15 minutes of the half.
