CARE Ghana has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to increase transparency in preparation for the December 7 elections by publishing the names and photos of all returning and deputy returning officers.
Its Executive Director, David Kumi Addo, emphasised the importance of this action in preserving the nation's democratic integrity.
The organisation plans to meticulously examine the list to identify any individuals with potential political biases who might disrupt the electoral process.

In a statement released on Thursday, May 2, CARE Ghana reiterated its commitment to ensuring free and fair elections in Ghana.
They believe that transparency in the appointment of electoral officers is crucial for maintaining public trust and confidence in the electoral system.
By releasing the names and images of these officers, CARE Ghana aims to contribute to the promotion of transparent and credible elections in Ghana.
In their view, this proactive measure will help prevent any attempts to undermine the democratic process.
“This transparency measure is not merely a matter of protocol; it is a vital safeguard against the insidious influence of criminal elements seeking to hijack our democracy for their selfish ends."
