Resurgent Egypt star Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the game to lift nine-man Fiorentina to a 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A on Sunday at the San Siro.
The 22-year-old, who started on the bench before replacing injured Senegalese striker Khouma Babacar in the 43rd minute, blasted home from inside the box after Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic parried a shot into his path.
On loan to Fiorentina from English side Chelsea until the end of the season, Salah has now scored in three straight Serie A games - that is all but his first game.
He has now made six appearances for the Viola and his goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday means he has now scored in four of those games.
Not bad for a guy used as a makeweight in a deal that saw Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado head the other way.
Salah's arrival, in addition to the $27m paid for Cuadrado, has proved an inspired piece of business for Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella who admitted last week that his side got the better deal.
"Who did better out of the Cuadrado exchange? Fiorentina earned a lot of money and, on the pitch, they are similar players." Montella had said.
"Salah is a player that, even if he takes some breaks, is devastating over 40 or 50 yards," he added.
