The University of Development Studies' Faculty Education will on Wednesday hold a political debate focusing on education policy in the country.
Four political parties namely the governing NPP and the largest opposition party, NDC as well as the CPP and PNC have confirmed their intention to participate in the event scheduled to take place at the University's main campus in Tamale.

Although the Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed 11 Political Parties and one Independent Candidate to contest the 2020 general election, the inclusion criteria for the debate is limited to only political parties with representation in Parliament or parties that have ever produced MPs in any previous Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
The governing NPP will be represented by Deputy Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum whiles Former Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa will represent the NDC.
The debate will provide a platform for dialogue in educational policy to help political parties reflect on the educational policies as presented in their manifestoes.
The main objective of the programme is to critically engage political parties on their educational policies.

This is a non-partisan programme organised by UDS Faculty of Education in partnership with NORSAAC and Oxfam.
The event will be live at 8pm on JoyNews, Joy FM and myjoyonline.com as well as digital media platforms.
