One more person has been arrested in the violent week-end confrontation between three soldiers and land guards over a disputed land in Dansoman.
Abdulai Salidu, owner of the bull dozer hired to demolish structures on the land is assisting the police with investigations, DSP Freeman Tettey, Greater Accra police PRO has confirmed to Joy News.
Three soldiers, hired by one lawyer Charles Owusu supervised the demolishing exercise on Saturday but were said to have been overpowered by land guards on the land.
But for the timely intervention of the police the confrontation would have been bloody.
Two of the soldiers were arrested with the third bolting away.
DSP Tettey said they are also on the hunt for the lawyer, Charles Owusu, an uncle to one of the soldiers.
Meanwhile, the military says it has begun investigations into the incident.
Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces, Col M’bawine Atintande gave the assurance that the culprits will be duly punished if found culpable.
He would however not say the kind of punishment to be meted out to the soldiers, if they are found culpable.
