The case in which businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome is standing trial at the Financial Crimes Court for fraud, has been adjourned for the Sixth consecutive time, because the Prosecution has again failed to produce its witnesses.
The Commercial Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the case in which Mr. Woyome is being accused of fraudulently obtaining a settlement award of GHS51.2 million from the state, to February 28, 2013.
Mr Woyome has been charged with defrauding by false pretenses and causing financial loss to the state.
The Prosecution on Tuesday failed to produce a witness in court and explained that witness was out of the jurisdiction.
That explanation has repeatedly been stated for Prosecutors' failure to prosecute their case.
At the last sitting on January 28, 2013, prosecutors told the Court they needed an adjournment to assemble their witnesses.
Mr Woyome angrily told Joy FM's Anny Osabutey after to Prosecution's plea was granted that the state was wasting his time and undermining his business.
He expected that persons testifying against him would appear in court today but yet again, the case was adjourned as there were no witnesses in court.
