Mr Prosper Bani, the Chief of Staff, has held a meeting with the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), the National Labour Commission (NLC) and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to discuss the impasse leading to the doctor’s strike.A statement signed by Hon. Mahama Ayariga, the Minister for Information and Media relations, said the meeting was held on 12th of February, 2013 at the Flagstaff House.It said the Chief of Staff urged all parties to labour disputes to allow the appropriate institutions of state to resolve them.It said during the meeting, the NLC handed their decision regarding an earlier complaint by the GMA against the FWSC on the same issues.The statement said following the deliberations by all the parties, the FWSC and executives of GMA agreed to abide by the arbitration award of the NLC referenced NLC/32/20/2013/39E until otherwise varied.It said the executives of the GMA and the FWSC subsequently paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Vice President K. B. Amissah-Arthur.
