More police officers are to be deployed onto the streets in the capital which are noted for notorious traffic offences.Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan disclosed this to Joy News when he inspected some streets in Accra.The exercise which was his first public duty since being named Acting IGP was also aimed at monitoring how police officials manage the situation on the ground.Speaking to JOYNEWS exclusively after the event, Mohamed Alhassan reiterated that the Service will be proactive in dealing with crime in the country.He said the decision to deploy more men onto the roads is as a result of the many complaints of indiscipline on the roads.He said he also wanted to ensure that his men are doing the right thing and doing it professionally.“Generally we are not doing badly, at all, but there is always room for improvement,” he added.He said the focus of the police is to embark on proactive police to ensure the general public is protected.
