Asare Hackman of Hacky Films has beaten veteran actor and producer Augustine Abbey (Idikoko) to become the President-elect of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG).
Information reaching Myjoyonline.com indicates that, Asare Hackman obtained 84 as against 42 votes polled by Idikoko in a hotly contested ballot at the association's general elections in Kumasi Wednesday.
Members of FIPAG converged in the Ashanti regional capital to elect 180 eight new executives to man the affairs of association for the next three years. Other positions being contested include General Secretary and Treasurer.
The elections are coming after the film producers association has been rocked with internal disputes for some time now causing divisions within its fold.
Some members of the association had accused Augustine Abbey of running a one-man show and also financial malpractices. Allegations he has vehemently denied.
More soon.
