Rapper D-Black has released his much-anticipated hip-hop EP, 'Smoke & Mirrors'.
The EP features an impressive track list which features talented acts like Bisa Kdei, Kelvyn Boy, Sefa, Sista Afia and others.
Two weeks before the release, the award-winning rapper dropped a single - 'Tha Bounce', a song produced by Rony Turn Me Up. That single got the streets talking heightening the expectations of music lovers.
He explained that “‘The Bounce’ was inspired by a Jay Z record we [Ryan Leslie’s productions sessions myself, Rony Turn Me Up and DJ Breezy] were vibing to in the studio at home and watching whilst we were working on the album.
“I wrote some lines on my phone and before we knew it I’d recorded the full track. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.”
On the seven-track EP, he said, “‘Smoke & Mirrors’ essentially means nothing is as it seems. The smoke blurs your vision and the mirrors are a reflection and not always reality.
“This is EP is 90% Hip-hop and was inspired by my nine-year journey and where I am today. I had to take it back to the roots, Hip-hop.”
The release of 'Smoke & Mirrors' precedes the release of his highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘Loyalty’ later this year.
After a long absence, D-Black bounced back in grand style dropping two massive hit songs in the space of two months.
He released two classic videos for the two songs - ‘Dat Ting (Toto)’ featuring Joey B and ‘Obiba’ featuring KiDi.
The two songs are currently enjoying a lot of radio, TV airplay as well as on streaming platforms.
'Smoke & Mirrors' is currently available on Spotify, YouTube, Tidal, Deezer and all major streaming platforms.
