The Extraordinary Achievement and Heroes of Africa (EXAHA) in collaboration with the Alfred Noble University (ANU) of Ukraine has conferred an Honorary Doctorate degree on the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ms. Otiko Afisah Djaba.This global recognition was bestowed on Ms. Djaba and seven (7) other deserving Ghanaians by the university on the overt recommendation of EXAHA, a non-governmental organisation working with the United Nations Global compact, African Union and other top learning institutions.Ms. Otiko Afisah Djaba also the Executive Director of the Henry Djaba Foundation, was awarded the Honorary Doctorate degree alongside, the founder of First Choice Hair and Beauty, Mrs. Faustina Adofo Adjagar and Bishop Jeremiah Chuku, Head of Ultimate Power Ministry Ghana.The Chairman of Christ Praise International Centre, Apostle Dr. Steven Owusu Jackson, Dr Sampson Effah Apraku, Board Chairman of Samara Group of Companies, Dr Samuel Ato Duncan, President of Global Peace Mission, and Dr Joseph Kobina Essibu, Executive Director of Ideal College received the Honorary Professor awards.Apostle Prof Dr Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka was also honoured with the Professor Emeritus title.Ms. Otiko Afisah DjabaAt an induction ceremony held at the University of Ghana, ISSER Annex Conference Hall in Accra, the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisah Djaba in her statement of appreciation on behalf of all the awardees, thanked EXAHA and the Alfred Nobel University of Ukraine for recognising and honoring their efforts and service to Ghana and the African continent.“The road to being a leader and an achiever is not an easy one. You have to break the boundaries and break the barriers with great sacrifice to yourself, family and friends, you have to be the change agent your people need, be resilient, practical, hungry to make a difference, think outside the box. Be a trailblazer, truthful, be a winner. It is like being a superman or superwoman, but you are just a mere mortal with many weaknesses. Dream the dream and make it all come true and keep raising the bar”.She challenged the awardees and other potential achievers to determine to be winners, champions, strong characters, trailblazers, be dynamic, be real and be truthful to themselves and God.Otiko Afisah Djaba who is currently touching many lives, especially persons living with disability in Ghana, called on African leaders to be exceptional leaders, seek understanding on how things work in a practical way, and be dynamic where and when it matters.The Let’s Talk Ability TV Show host dedicated her Honorary Doctorate title to all who are discriminated against, marginalised, treated badly, abused and rejected, and called for respect for women, children and persons with disability as well as gender equality and equity.“We here today should work harder to develop a strong and credible legacy for future generations to be proud of. We must change our negative approaches, striking balances, building people- girls, women and PWDs with a tremendous willingness to make a difference for the Africa we can believe in and the Africa we want to see- an Africa free of poverty, free of Ebola, free of HIV/AIDS, free of malaria, free of cholera, free of maternal and infant mortality, free of unemployment and move from developing to developed continent”.
