Several buildings deemed to be illegally sited in Dansoman have been demolished by the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly.
On Friday, structures on the Gbegbe Lagoon in Gbegbeyise and the Seven Great School were pulled down by the Assembly’s task force with armed policemen in support.
Most of the demolished structures had notices of ‘Remove Now By AWMA...’ on them.
The sound of excavators digging into the structures drew several onlookers to the scene with those affected running helter-skelter to salvage what they can.
The victims told Joy News they were not given enough time to pack out but the Assembly said they issued notices of evacuation two months ago.
