Gospel musician Joyce Blessing says there is too much backbiting in the industry and it will take the intervention of God to stop it.
According to her, she is baffled that Gospel musicians, who are supposed to be good examples and practice what they preach, rather destroy each other.
“When you are new, no one talks about you. But once you become famous and start getting the gigs, that is when it all starts. More than three Gospel musicians have said bad things about me to event organisers because I had the chance to perform at those events and not them,” she told Graphic Showbiz in an interview on Sunday.
As a result, Joyce Blessing said she has just a few friends in the Gospel fraternity adding that she is very careful who she made friends with. She said, “I don’t want to discuss something with a friend and the next day, hear it somewhere else. My husband is my everything and that has helped me to stay out of trouble. I discuss whatever worries me and he gives me the right answers.”
A mother of three, Joyce Blessing said it had not been easy combining music with being a mother and a wife. The artiste explained although the task is tedious, she has a very supportive family who helps her through all struggles.
