Everton have seen a £30m bid for Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi rejected, according to reports.
It was communicated to the Arsenal hierarchy today and immediately knocked back.
Everton are expected to return with an improved offer - but it will likely need to be in excess of £40m to be accepted by the Gunners.
The 23-year-old Nigeria international is not agitating to leave - but would be willing to move if a deal between the clubs was agreed.
Everton’s interest is understood to be recent and is in addition to their pursuit of Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
