Music In Africa is joining forces with The Multimedia Group to hold the third edition of the highly sought after Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES).
The two companies have agreed to work together to make Ghana’s hosting of the conference a successful one.
During a brief interaction at the Kokomlemle offices of the Group on Thursday, Eddie Hatitye, founder and CEO of Music In Africa, underscored the importance of the partnership with The Multimedia Group – all its platforms – to the event.
He noted that the media giant has an impressive track record and ACCES is tapping into that to make the conference a memorable one.
Abdulai Awudu, General Manager for Multi TV and Adom brands (Adom TV, Adom FM and Adomonline.com), assured the organisers of The Multimedia Group’s readiness to support the event to make it a successful one.
He noted that the company’s platforms are more than ready to provide the needed awareness in terms of promotion and coverage of the conference.
Accra will be the third African capital to host the prestigious trade event after Dakar, Senegal and Nairobi, Kenya welcomed delegates from around the world in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
ACCES 2019 will kick off on November 28 and end on November 30, 2019.
The annual event is a pan-African event for music industry players to exchange ideas, discover new talent and create business linkages. It attracts active music industry players from across the globe.
The ACCES Conversations series have previously featured renowned music industry professionals like Mr Eazi, Blinky Bill, Blick Bassy and former Fela Kuti manager Rikki Stein.
Already confirmed speakers for the Accra event include Akon, Sarkodie, Samini and Wanlov the Kubolor.
Other renowned personalities speaking at the event include Chocolate City Vice President Aibee Abidoye (Nigeria), Boulevard Festival co-director Hicham Bahou (Morocco), TRUE Africa founder and editor-in-chief Claude Grunitzky (Togo/UK), Simfy OTT music services head Oye Akideinde (Nigeria), Boomplay Ghana manager Elizabeth Ntiamoah (Ghana), artist and music producer Kofi 'IamBeatMenace' Boachie-Ansah (Ghana) and Grammy-nominated musician, author and rights activist Mark Levine (US).
ACCES 2019 will open with a ceremony on November 28, where the Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) will award two Ghanaian musicians with the Music In Africa Honorary Award.
The award is bestowed upon African artistes who have made immense contributions to the music and cultural industries in their countries and Africa as a whole.
Previous award recipients include Baaba Maal (Senegal) and Eric Wainaina (Kenya), both of whom were also ACCES keynote speakers.
In addition, the conference will feature panel discussions, presentations, interactive exhibitions, speed networking sessions and outings to key industry hubs such as recording studios and live venues.
Also in attendance at the meeting was were Paa Kwesi Ackom, Channel Manager for Joy Prime and Edward Owusu, who handles PR and media relations for the conference.
