Ghana's premier anti-breast cancer non-governmental organization, Breast Care International (BCI) has commended Delta Airlines for supporting breast cancer awareness in the country.
Their support, according to President of BCI, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai has helped them reduce the stigma against breast cancer survivors in society.
She noted that, they have also been able to disseminate quality breast health education, offer free breast screening at pre-agreed select communities, and research for enduring methods to fight stigmatization due to Delta Airlines support.
The breast cancer advocate added that, her organization is also able to travel around the country with survivors to share their stories due to the immense support of the American airline company.
"We have never appreciated Delta more, as we commit our flagship programs, the BCI GHANA RACE FOR THE CURE, the world cancer, and mothers' day celebrations among others to the Airline. There is a determined effort on our part to deepen the relationship, under Delta's ambitious "kick cancer out" program and bring relief to our suffering women", she stated.
Dr. Wiafe Addai also commended other organizations and corporate bodies who have also supported BCI to increase the breast cancer awareness campaign nationwide.
