The Appointments Committee of Parliament has begun vetting three female Appeals Court justices promoted to the Supreme Court by President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Justice Mariama Owusu, Justice Gertrude Tokornoo and Justice Avril Lovelace-Johnson will replace Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, Justice Vida Akoto Bamfo and Justice Sophia Adinyira who are due for retirement by close of the year.
Out of the three, the Committee will be meeting Justice Mariama Owusu and Justice Avril Lovelace-Johnson today, before vetting Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Tokornoo on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
