The former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahanta West constituency of the Western Region, George Aboagye has passed on at age 69.
According to sources, the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) legislator was admitted at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital in the Central region on Monday, but he passed on a few hours later.
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Mr Aboagye who had a background in Economics was the Cheif Executive Officer (CEO) for Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC). From 2013 to 2017 he served as the MP for the Ahanta West constituency and was seeking re-election in the upcoming general election. The deceased was the aspiring parliamentary candidate for the NDC.
