An ex-policeman, Paapa Nyaba, who kissed an eight-year-old girl at Pokuase has been hauled before court for indecent assault.
Nyaba has however denied the offence.
The court presided over by Ms Ellen Vivian Amoah remanded Nyaba into police custody to reappear on March 13.
Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the court that the victim's mother was the complainant and the accused person resides at Pokuase Mayera in Accra.
Prosecution said in February this year at about 2:30 pm, the complainant sent the victim to go and buy groundnut from a nearby provision shop.
Nyaba was also buying biscuit from the same shop. Nyaba was said to have placed his hand on the victim’s shoulders and asked her if her father was a policeman and demanded to know her name.
Prosecution said suddenly, the accused person grabbed the victim’s cheek with his two hands and kissed her passionately on her lips and told the victim that she was beautiful.
Detective Inspector Atimbire said after the act the victim informed her mother who lead her to identify the accused person.
Nyaba was picked up by the people around and handed over to the Police at Tesano. Nyaba has however denied the offence during interrogation.
