The headmaster of the Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School at Ejura in Ashanti who has been removed from office for attempted rape is to face a disciplinary committee on Monday, March 17, to determine whether he should be dismissed or retained in the service.
The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Belinda Serwaa Addo, who on February 17 ordered the transfer of the headmaster, Samuel Ofori Amanfo, to the regional office disclosed the latest development to The Times.
She said, the transfer was based on an interim report of a seven-member committee the Ejura Sekyedumase District Directorate of Education set up to investigate the sexual impropriety of Mr Amanfo.
The former headmaster, on January 23, this year, allegedly attempted to rape a female student of the school at his residence.
Following the incidence, the student body went on a demonstration on January 30 calling for the dismissal of Mr Amanfo.
They petitioned the district education directorate and the district assembly, which prompted the setting up of the committee to investigate the matter.
In its interim report, the committee is said to have found the headmaster culpable of an attempted rape.
