Mr. Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Campaign Committee, says Nana Addo Danwkah Akufo-Addo does not smoke or drink alcohol, let alone take hard drugs as alleged by his opponents. He said claims that Nana Addo is a hard drug user is a lie by the opposition to malign him, describing it as one of the many lies told about the party’s flag-bearer because it is the only way of attacking him.Jake was addressing party followers at Sunday’s national campaign rally at Kasoa in the Central Region to officially outdoor Nana Akufo-Addo as the presidential candidate.“They say that this man is doing drugs, that he is a drug taker. Now hear the truth, he is not a drug taker. Not only is he not a drug taker, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo does not even smoke cigarettes, he doesn’t even drink alcohol and then you want to lie about him.“They are going to use lies and lies and lies. Everyday for ‘thiefman’ but today, you will hear the truth about who is Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.”Jake who proceeded to relate a splendid CV of Nana Addo; his political lineage, education, professional and political careers, said the other time it was a question of whether Nana Addo was a lawyer or not.“They say in politics you have to develop the skin of the elephant, that people are going to talk, talk, talk about you that you must grow the skin of the elephant so you can feel it. They also say that everyday for ‘thiefman’, one day for master. The man that insha Allah we have chosen to be our flag-bearer is a man who has been suffering from lies and lies and lies, because they know that the only way that they can attack him is by lies.“This is the man who they’re going round telling the world that he is not a proper lawyer. How? This man was the senior partner in ….probably the most influential law firm that Ghana has seen in our generation. This man was an officer of the Bar Association …and then you say that he is not a lawyer.”
