The Akufo-Addo campaign team is due to hit the Western Region on Friday after a day’s suspension of campaign activities in honour of the late finance minister, Mr Kwado Baah-Wiredu.
The team on Thursday halted all political activities, following a directive by the party chairman Peter Mac Manu to all party executives at the national and regional levels.
The campaign team which had toured the Asante-Akim North constituency earlier in the week pitched camp at Bibiani to prepare for business on Friday in Sehwi-Wiaso in the Western Region.
Joy News’ correspondent who has been travelling with the team on the campaign trail reported that the suspension of campaign programmes also meant a complete blackout on all activities by the Addo-Dankwa fraternity.
The shocking news of Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, who reporters described as the most affable minister in the Kufuor administration, hit the country on Wednesday.
Mr Baah-Wiredu’s death threw the country into grief as people shared fond memories of the former finance minister.
However business by the team is due to get off to a vigorous start on Friday as the party is set to pulverise an invigorated Atta Mills campaign.
Officials of the NPP have described the Western Regional tour as a mop up.
