Aspiring New Patriotic Party torchbearer, Alan Kyerematen has appealed to first time voters to take seriously, the Electoral Commission’s limited voters’ registration exercise and participate in it.
The EC will between Monday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 13, 2014, embark on registration of persons who have attained voting age of 18 years as well as those who for varied reasons, could not register before the last general elections to do so.
“…I therefore admonish Ghanaians not to relent on their efforts in carrying out their civic responsibility by being part of this democratic process,” Mr. Kyeremateng admonished in a release over the weekend.
“It is an important exercise that must be taken seriously by all stakeholders to ensure that, it is conducted with absolute integrity and within the confines of the rules and regulations as stipulated.
“I further appeal to the first-time voters to register and rally their support in votes for NPP in the next general elections to bring real change and meaningful progress into their lives”.
He indicated his resolve to monitor the exercise closely together with party agents to ensure the laws are not breached.
“I, together with other members and agents of the NPP will be monitoring closely the conduct of the exercise. This I believe is one of the major steps towards victory in 2016.
“Ghanaians are calling for a change in leadership and the reconstruction of our ailing economy. We cannot fail them this time. The next NPP government is ready to provide unlimited prosperity and better days to the mass of our people”.
