Former Trade and Industry minister Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku will occupy the Number One spot on the ballot paper when the opposition New Patriotic Party goes to congress later this month.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who led the party in the 2008 and 2012 elections secured the sixth spot.
His closest rival Mr. Alan Kyerematen sits just above him on the fifth spot.
Former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng chose the second spot at the balloting ceremony at the party’s headquarters today.
Francis Addai Nimoh MP for Mampong constituency in the Ashanti Region, and Kofi Osei Ameyaw, MP for Asugyaman, will occupy the third and fourth positions respectively when the super delegates’ congress kicks off on August 31 to trim the number of presidential aspirants down to five.
Joe Ghartey, MP for Essikado-Ketan secured the 7th spot on the ballot.
“One number that works for me is three and seven. God decided today…I am number two, others are behind… there is only one in sight”, said Asamoah-Boateng.
The National Vetting Committee of the party approved the candidacy of all seven aspirants last week.
