Some passengers who were on board a Kumasi-bound domestic airline, Starbow say they have been left traumatized after the plane on which they were travelling caught fire mid-air.
The aircraft left the Kotoka International Airport in the morning but had to return to safety shortly after take-off.
Kennedy Bomfeh, a passenger on board the aircraft told Joy News he saw what appeared like fire from the engine just ten minutes after take-off.
Seated at the right wing of the plane,Bomfeh narrated "we heard a very loud explosion...huge noise. Somehow the pilot was able to bring it around. We had do an emergency landing. It was a very frightful event".
Bomfeh said he was disappointed that despite the traumatizing experience, no official made "at least an attempt to calm us down"
He said "I couldn't sleep last night because I had trauma-induced insomia...heard the sound of the engine and the fire"
Management of Starbow Airline has confirmed the incident to Joy News but have declined any further comment on it for now.
