Senior Lecturer at Ashesi University Dr. Lloyd Amoah has described as childish, the response from Communications Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah to comments made by Dr. Mensah Otabil about the economy.
Dr. Otabil described Ghana’s economy as "sinking ship" needing urgent and decisive leadership response to rescue it but Dr. Omane-Boamah described that as unfortunate, accusing the Minister of the gospel of “painting a non-existent picture about the economy.”
However, speaking on Adom Midday News, Dr. Lloyd Amoah said “as a child Omane-Boamah should keep quiet and listen when elderly people talk and learn from their wisdom.”
The Afro-Chinese Relations Expert said Dr. Otabil’s comments were "a true reflection of the economy" and must be taken with all seriousness.
“If you are a right-thinking member of society and you listen to Omane0Boamah’s comment you will sit back and laugh at him,” he added.
He said government should not be quick to use “childish reasoning” to attack people who raise genuine concerns about the economy.
Dr. Amoah thinks Dr. Omane-Boamah’s comments against Dr. Otabil shows that he (Omane-Boamah) has no love for the country, adding that the Minister should not comment about the economy again but rather discern wisdom when the elderly speaks.
He said the economy is likely to deteriorate further if government does not take drastic measures now.
