The Atimpoku polling station in the Korle Clottey Constituency witnessed brief misunderstanding and hot verbal exchanges over posters of Prof. Mills NDC presidential candidate pasted on a car parked close to the polling station.
Representatives of the NPP insisted the car be moved from the polling station or the posters removed since it was flouting the electoral rules.
According to the rules, no party paraphernalia should be seen around the polling station.
But the owner of the vehicle Alhaji Mohammed Gedel, who is the NDC coordinator for the Korle Clottey constituency, maintains the car was parked in his house and has no reason to move the car or remove the posters.
Tempers flared as Alhaji Gedel swore he was not going to move his car.
Supporters of the two political parties immediately besieged the polling station and engaged in hot verbal confrontation.
But for the timely intervention of the police patrol unit, the situation would have degenerated into needless physical confrontation.
Alhaji was finally prevailed upon by the police to move his car into the house.
