The ruling New Patriotic Party says the party is confident of a win in the second round presidential election.
At a press conference in Accra Monday, addressed by campaign director Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, the NPP said it had been waiting on the Electoral Commission (EC) to declare the final result in its favour.
He served notice the NPP had been gathering facts on reports of intimidation and violent attacks meted out to its agents, especially, in the Volta Region.
He said NPP party agents in some constituencies were not allowed to observe counting and collation as they were chased away before of counting.
Dr Apraku said the party’s petition to the EC to halt voting at some polling centres because its agents were being heckled, fell on deaf ears.
He served notice the NPP would in due course take the necessary steps to demand justice.
Supporters of the NPP who trooped to the party’s headquarters in Accra were however all smiles. Some claimed senior officials had assured them of victory in the election.
The contest between the ruling NPP and main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been a tight one.
