The convicted District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Bossman Osei – Hyiamang Jnr. has been released from the Maximum Security Prison.

The DCE was released 14 days after he was jailed for assaulting a bailiff.

Citi News Central Regional Correspondent Kwamina Bamfo-Agyei reported that the DCE was released at dawn on Saturday “instead of the earlier scheduled time to avoid media coverage.”

The DCE was sentenced to jail by the Cape Coast High Court for verbally assaulting a bailiff who was sent to serve him summons over a demolition exercise he initiated on a market at Twifo Praso despite a stay of execution.

The incident led to his incarceration.

 The DCE has however been released and is currently in Accra where he is receiving medical attention.

He is expected to address his supporters on Tuesday at a victory welcoming party which will be organized at the new market.

journalists who were at the Maximum Security Prison were disappointed to meet the absence of the DCE.

In an exclusive interview with Kwamina Bamfo-Agyei, earlier in the week at the Ankaful Prison, the DCE disclosed that he is not ashamed to be imprisoned since he was ensuring that his people get their fair share of development.

He was grateful to the Prison officers for their support while serving his contempt of court sentence.

Earlier, a Deputy Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye pleaded on behalf of the ex-convict DCE, saying he acted out of frustration.
