The pressure group which petitioned the president to remove the head of the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative (CHRAJ) is asking John Mahama to suspend her if a prima facie case of misappropriation is made against her.
The Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF) believes the CHRAJ boss cannot remain in office while still under investigation.
The conduct of the CHRAJ boss has been referred to the Chief Justice for investigation.
Lawyer for the Forum, Samson Lardy-ANYENINI said the president must activate his powers of suspension and let Laureta Lamptey stay away from office until the allegations of financial impropriety have been settled.
If found guilty, the group would have the president do away completely with the services of the CHRAJ boss.
Mrs Laureta Lamptey is being accused of blowing an amount of $148,000 on her 33-month rent and an additional $180,000 on renovating her official residence.
Her conduct has since been a subject of a huge controversy with some, including the PNF and the MP for Nsawam- Adoagyiri Frank Annor Dompreh, petitioning the President to remove her.
Samson Lardy ANYENINI said it is well within the right of PNF to ask for the suspension of Mrs Lamptey because given the serious nature of the allegation her continued stay in office as the CHRAJ boss would not bode well for the institution.
