One of the world's fastest growing airlines, Qatar Airways, is now set to begin operations to Accra from Doha from next year.
The airline was expected to start operations in the country from June this year but they were postponed due to reasons that were not officially communicated.
However speaking to Joy Business from Doha, as part of President Mahama's three-day visit to that country, Spokesperson for the presidency, Dotsei Malor says the airline would from 2015 begin scheduled flights to Ghana.
“The chief executive of Qatar Airways reassured the President that Qatar Airways is going to be flying daily to Accra from next year,” he said.
The carrier which has Doha, the capital of Qatar, as its hub for its operations, currently operates to 125 cities around the world.
Qatar Airway's entry to Ghana could increase the number of Airlines operating out of Kotaka International Airport to about 40.
