The President, H.E. John Evans Atta Mills has warned his deputy ministers against personality clashes in their effort to partner their various ministers. The President has rather called on all deputy ministers in his government to ensure that teamwork at their various ministries becomes their hallmark.President Mills made the call when he swore into office 20 deputy ministers at the Castle on Wednesday after they received parliamentary approval on April 21.The president warned that any signs of power struggle within the various ministries would spell doom for the NDC party. He indicated however that he would not hesitate to take action to quell such occurrences. He called on the appointees to be responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people. The 20 deputy ministers sworn-in include Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa and Dr Omani Boamah, who respectively are heading towards the ministries of Information and that of Science and Technology.Others are Rojo Mettle Nunno, Dr Benjamin Kumbour, Baba Jamal, and Kobby Acheampong amongst others. The swearing-in of the deputy ministers now leaves a deputy Minister for Defense to be named.Meanwhile, advisor to the President and former Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Victor Gbeho, has called on all ministers within the Mills Administration especially deputy ministers, to work assiduously to disprove the perception that they are mediocre. His comment comes in the wake of sentiments expressed by former President Rawlings that Professor Mills has surrounded himself with mediocre personalities as ministers and deputy ministers.Source: citifmonline.com
