Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany's international broadcaster, would on Tuesday organise a workshop in Accra on radio programming for girls and boys from 12 years to 20 years of age for its partner stations in Ghana.
The workshop on the theme: “Learning by Ear” is aimed at creating a connection between DW and its radio station partners in Ghana.
They include GBC FM Stations in nine Regions and eight private radio stations in Ashanti; Brong Ahafo; Central; Eastern; Greater Accra and Northern Regions.
It would create a good opportunity for Broadcasters to exchange thoughts and information face to face.
The “Learning by Ear” programme examines the challenges that young Africans face and engages listeners in an informative and entertaining way.
The programming is a lively mix of in-depth reports, radio dramas and feature stories that provide listeners with an opportunity to get the necessary skills to succeed in Africa today and to discover a whole new world of knowledge.
The programmes of “Learning by Ear” are produced by African authors from across the Continent, supported by dedicated Deutsche Welle staff.
It is currently available in six languages including English, Kiswahili, French, Hausa, Portuguese and Amharic and is supported by Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
Mr Naser Shrouf, Head of Distribution for Africa and the Middle East and Mr Kirstin Zeier, Head of English Programming for DW-RADIO and DW-WORLD.DE, would attend the workshop.
