Ex Minister for Employment, Nana Akomea has denied claims that he still occupies his official bungalow several weeks after the expiration of a deadline. Nana Akomea was named by the Deputy Works and Housing Minister, Dr Hanna Louisa Bisiw, as one of 18 ex-government officials who still occupied their government bungalow despite the April l7 deadline for them to vacate their official residence. Dr. Bisiw in an interview with Joy News’ Matilda Asante, said the continued occupation of the ex-ministers had impeded government’s drive to deliver on its promises since many of the in-coming ministers had no place to settle. But in a separate interview with Myjoyonline, Nana Akomea expressed shock at the Deputy Ministers claim, insisting he parked out of his official residence before the deadline. He explained the keys to his residence is still in his possession because he is waiting for an inventory to be taken. Mr Akomea feared he would be accused of looting the furnishings in his house if he handed over the keys without the appropriate inventory taken. According to him, he has paid a tenant who is staying in the residence to watch over furnishings and other valuables until the due process has been followed and a proper handing over done. He advised ministers to cross check their facts before making claims that have the potential to tarnish other people's image. Story by Nathan Gadugah/Myjoyonline
