The Deputy National Organizer of the NDC, Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan has admitted that most women in the National Democratic Congress party have low educational background and that is one of the reasons President Mills has not been able to fulfill his promise of giving 40% appointments in his government to women.Speaking on Asempa Today, Mr. Gyan indicated that though the president has been able to appoint some of the women in his administration, he was hopeful by the end of the first term of President Mills’ administration, most of the women would have acquired some training and upgraded their academic realm to in order to qualify for positions the president may offer them.Mr. Yaw Gyan was reacting to some comments made by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that the president has failed his promise to women. Gyan however commended Nana Addo for admitting the fact that the President is fighting the drug menace in the country.Mr. Gyan further stated that some businessmen who do not belong to the NDC have intentionally increased the prices of their wares to make the NDC government unpopular but he urged Ghanaians to exercise a little more patience and assured that he hopes by the end of the year, prices of goods and services will be affordable for all.Story by Yirenkyiwaa Sakyi Addo Mensah
