The New Juaben North and South Constituency branches of the Convention People’s Party(CPP) have accused the Danquah-Busia Tradition of attempting to rewrite the political history of the country to cover up for their shame in the role they played in the overthrow of the CPP government in 1966.
The party observed that, the history of the country is well documented and nobody could change any part of it for generations to come and the truth would always be there for all to know.
This was contained in a press release issued by the party in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the party and signed by Mr Ernest Obeng Darfuor a copy of which was made available to the Ghana News Agency at Koforidua at the weekend.
The party observed that, due to the good foundation laid by the first President of the Republic of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the country can now boast of men and women of academic excellence working for the advancement of humanity all over the world.
The party called on the government to release buildings constructed by the CPP which were wrongfully seized by the military junta that overthrew Dr Kwame Nkrumah to the party in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the party.
