Paramount Chief of Kusaug Kingdom of the Upper East Region says his people and Asantes shared a history of friendship which has contributed to Ghana’s development.
According to Zugraan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, Kusaug have provided farming and commercial services to the Asante Kingdom for ages.
He stresses the importance of sustaining the relationship for the benefit of the next generation.

Nana Azoka Abugrago Azoka was speaking when he led a delegation to pay a historic visit to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II.
He was in Kumasi to express gratitude to the Asante King for sending a delegation to join the people of Kusaug to celebrate the Samanpiid Festival, last year.

Zugraana was accompanie by Pusiga Chief, Ibrahim Aguure, Chief of Tanga, Naba Ayaaba Samson and Wan-nab Thomas Abilla, Sapeliga Chief.
The rest were Naba Mbangiba Ayagiba Emmanuel, Zabugu Naba Amadu Awini, Kugri Naba Abdulai Asidwaya, Missiga Naba Issaka Anatoum, Kpalwega naba Peter Amenga, Boko Naba Adam Awini and some sub-chiefs and elders.

Otumfuo acknowledged the long-standing bond between the people of Asante and Kusaug.
He expressed gratitude to the Zugraan Bawku Naba and his entourage for the visit, urging them to consider Manhyia their home.
Otumfuo also promised a reciprocatory visit to the Kusaug Kingdom.
Meanwhile, natives of Kusaug in Ashanti region have pledged to remain good citizens and support Otumfuo.

They say the enabling environment the Asante Kingdom provides them is too enormous to be quantified.
"We are overwhelmed by his support and the fact that we have been able to grow our businesses here,” says Abdul-Karim Ahmed.
"We won't relent to provide our support to him anyway and anytime."
