Nigeria has confirmed a second case of coronavirus in the country.
The confirmed case was tested in Ogun State during a routine test by the Federal Ministry of Health of Nigeria (FMoH).
The health authority, in a statement said that the new case is "not an importation [of COVID-19 into the country]" but came in contact with the first confirmed case, an Italian, who is in isolation and under a clinical follow up.
The FMoH are currently monitoring 40 persons in isolation in Ogun State and 20 persons also in isolation in Lagos State, since the announcement of the first confirmed case.
A tweet by the Nigerian Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire said that the new patient has "no significant clinical symptoms and is clinically stable."

The new case is an Ogun State contact of the index case, one of 40 persons in isolation being closely monitored. He is clinically stable.
