The Association of Health Service Administrators, Ghana (AHSAG) is urging government to ban all inter-regional travels across the country, as more and more confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus are recorded.

This, according to the Association will slow down the movement of people, localise the spread of the virus and facilitate the identification of ‘community spread cells’ for easy contact tracing.

In a statement signed by the President of the Association, Fred Effah-Yeboah, AHSAG also asked government to begin mass testing after the partial lockdown.

Already, Ghana has recorded 137 cases, with one death. While the Ashanti Region had about 3 confirmed cases, the Upper West region recorded its first case on Friday, March 27, 2020.
