Actor cum tailor Elikem Kumordzie is distributing 500 pieces of custom made face masks to Ghanaians.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, he said that although the masks are not clinically approved, it helps stop the spread of the coronavirus.
According to him, with the shortage of clinical masks in hospitals, it is fair to create something that the public can wear without having to go for the little clinical masks left for health professionals.
“In a country like the Czech Republic, for example, they have recorded the lowest cases in Europe so far because everybody is advised to wear a face mask,” he said.
Elikem explained that the masks help people who have unknowingly contracted the virus keep the droplets from their coughs and sneezes contained saving others from catching it.
“So guys I advise you to wear your face masks whenever going out. I have been able to produce 500 pieces of face masks, free of charge to be distributed.”
For people interested in Elikem’s face masks he advised they contact his manager, Alfred on +233273240051 for one.
“TAG ME and also use the hashtag #thetailorsFaceMask and #mask4all when u receive yours,” he added.
Elikem Kumordzie has however been placed on mandatory quarantine after returning to Ghana from South Africa.
He has tested negative for coronavirus but is awaiting a second confirmatory test while he completes his 14 days mandatory quarantine.
