Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says government has commenced an exercise that will see people held in mandatory quarantine but tested negative for the coronavirus being reunited with their families.
According to Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, this follows a re-testing of their samples for the virus.
“Today and tomorrow we are commencing an exercise to take home our colleagues who have been in mandatory quarantine for the last 14 days and who tested negative after both tests.” He tweeted.
At a press brief on Friday, Mr Oppong Nkrumah had announced that about 500 persons out of the 950 people who tested negative in mandatory quarantine are being retested so they can be allowed to go home.
In total, 1,030 people were on mandatory quarantine out of which 80 tested positive for the virus.
Tweeting the update, the Information Minister also said measures have been put in place to ensure safe exit out of Accra for those who stay outside the locked-down area.
