The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources has completed a three-day massive clean-up exercise in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.
The clean up was in collaboration with the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the regions.
This was to ensure effective cleaning and cleansing of the regions, particularly, Greater Accra and Ashanti, which are under lockdown.
The exercise took place at various places including Accra's Central Business District (CBD), the City Hall and Agbogbloshie.
Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah, joined the cleaning team on the day one of the exercise.
In her address, she said that the Ministry wanted to use the exercise to also keep the city clean from the novel coronavirus.
The exercise was supported by members of the Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) led by Zoomlion Ghana Limited and the security services
The clean up began on Friday, April 3 and ended on Sunday April 5.
