Following Uwadia Omozuwa’s rape case, 2019 Big Brother Naija housemate Khafi Kareem has opened up on being a rape victim.
The 31-year-old took to Twitter to share her ordeal in the hands of a rapist.
According to her, the person who raped her is someone she usually confides in.
The former police officer said that she kept it a secret because the rapist apologised and begged her not to tell anyone.
Khafi said she was also blamed for the rape when she opened up to someone.
“WhyIDidntReport – because he apologised right after. Because I made myself believe him being drunk was an excuse. Because the one person I did tell said I caused it. Because I felt dirty and ashamed. #WeAreTired"
The Nigerian-British said that she was opening up because other girls going through such ordeal need to.
"Yes this did happen to me. I’m sharing in the hope that others will feel no shame in sharing what happened to them. Please don’t deflect or say it is not my story when it was already hard enough sharing it.”

Some fans reacted with one writing “Every single one of you speaking up, you are doing it for all us, for us who’ve never wanted to believe it happened to us.. For us who are never ready to speak, and probably never will be! You are doing it for all of us.”
Another user @Gloreeyah2 wrote “This sounds like mine! But my case he was not drunk and it was a calculated attempt cos he knew I would be the only one in that big fenced house in a GRA. Afterwards, he rushed back to campus.”
@Bibireht wrote “The Woman, you are strong and stay beautiful my Queen.”
